Nicknamed the “Theatre of the Wild,” Tsavo East boasts vast grasslands that make spotting wildlife a thrilling adventure. Embark on exciting game drives in search of the Big Five: majestic elephants, powerful lions, elusive leopards, hulking rhinos, and formidable buffaloes. Keep your eyes peeled for the park’s iconic “red” elephants, a sight that will leave you in awe. Day one begins with a mid-morning arrival at the park, followed by an afternoon game drive en route to your lodge. After a relaxing afternoon, an evening game drive unveils the park’s nocturnal residents, offering a chance to witness the wild come alive under the starlit sky.

Rise early on day two for a sunrise game drive, when animals are most active. With the golden light painting the landscape, you might encounter cheetahs gracefully stalking their prey, or witness a herd of gerenuks, long-necked antelopes browsing on acacia trees. After breakfast, embark on a final game drive as you exit the park, returning to Mombasa with unforgettable memories and a newfound appreciation for Kenya’s majestic wildlife.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1 - Mombasa - Tsavo East

Depart after breakfast for Tsavo East National Park, arrival will be by mid-day after gate formalities proceed on a game drive en route to your lodge for lunch. afternoon have a rest and later proceed for an evening game drive. Tsavo East National Park is the largest protected area in Kenya and is also known as “Theatre of the Wild”. The landscape in the park is mostly grass savannah which makes it a bit easier to spot the wildlife. With a little luck, you will be able to spot the complete Big five in this park. The animals you can spot in this park are herds of “red” elephants, buffalos, rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, gerenuks, and a large variety of birds.

Day 2 - Tsavo East National Park

Wake up early this morning, as you will go out into the park for an early morning game drive at 06:00hrs. Animals will be more active in the morning hours so the chances of spotting more animals are bigger. Around 08:00hrs you will head back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and start your en route game drive towards the exit of the park. Once you have left the park you will head back to your hotel in Mombasa.
